Studios On The Park
Studios On The Park has a full Saturday line up around Eroica California that will include talks from Austin McInerny, President of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), VEPCA Collector Elizabeth Norris, and Spanish artist Miguel Soro Garcia. All of this will be happening on Saturday, April 8th starting at 3:15 pm.
Join Austin McInerny, President of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) and VEPCA Collector Elizabeth Norris during Eroica Weekend (the vintage road bicycle ride and festival) for an informative talk on how the bicycle changed the world in the 19th and 20th centuries - leading to the development of paved roads, increased long-distance travel and women’s liberation.
Posters are original source material which magnify the attitudes of the period in which they were made. McInerny will describe the technological evolution of the bike and Norris will use her bicycle poster collection (featured in Jump for Joy: Vintage European Posters) to illustrate the excitement and, in some cases, social strife, created by this transformative technology.
Beginning at 4 pm, the renowned Spanish cycling artist Miguel Soro Garcia will be speaking about his creative process and inspiration. More than a dozen of his paintings will be exhibited at Studios On The Park from April 6-9. Miguel was a professional cyclist and now a well-known painter in Europe. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet him in person.
Studios On The Park is located at 1130 Pine Street, Paso Robles.
